What are the requirements for registering .net and .org domain names?

The rules for registering a .org or .net domain are the same as the rules for .com. Anybody can purchase a .org or .net domain. Most of the time a .org domain indicates the organization is a non-profit while a .net domain is used by organizations involved in internet infrastructure activities.
