How to setup Weberz anti-virus protection
Weberz’s Anti Virus filter provides a server based level of protection against viruses. It also provides a way for each customer to customize how virus filters work for their domains/addresses.
To get started, login to the control panel. Don’t know how to login? Click here to find out how. Once logged in, navigate to the email section.

This will load the mail manager interface. The mail manager is where all things related to email can be configured/set up. Understand that there are two ways to configure the Anti Virus filters, they can be applied on a global (all mail resources on a domain) or a local (per mail resource) basis.

When the mail manager interface has loaded, a listing of all the mail resources for the domain is displayed. At the top of the page there will be a link to Anti-Virus. This link will configure the global settings. To configure the local settings, click on the anti-virus button next to the resource. This will load the Anti-Virus settings page.
*** Note: The interface for the global and local filters will look identical. Any settings applied to the global interface will automatically be imported and displayed when the local filter interface is loaded. ***

Open the Anti-Virus filter configuration by clicking on the Anti-Virus link (either by clicking the global or the local link). Once the interface for the filter setup has loaded, there will be a page displaying options on how to change the way Anti-Virus is processed. There are 3 ways to change the processing.
The filter can either mark the message as a virus and forward it on to the mailbox (virus included), remove the virus and forward the message on to the mailbox, or move the infected message to a separate mailbox. If the infected message is moved to another mailbox, it will be sent, still infected, to that mailbox.

Choose a method of virus filtering. Click the submit button. The Control Panel will process the request and make the required configuration changes to the mail server(s). Once this process has been completed a success message will be displayed.
That’s all there is to it. Weberz’s filters are updated as new viruses come out. However, like any anti-virus solution, there is no way to be 100% accurate. We recommend that our customers be proactive about virus and spam filtering by installing a “layered” solution. An example of this would be having virus filtering turned on at the server combined with an up to date copy of anti-virus software on the client computer. Don’t have an anti-virus solution?
