Setting up a Weberz email account in Netscape
This article covers how to set up a Weberz email account in Netscape 7.2
Netscape, a popular browser alternative to Internet Explorer, has a mail client built into the browser itself. This article will walk you through how to set Netscape Mail up to send and receive from a Weberz email account.
First off, open Netscape Mail. Once it is opened, click Edit –> Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings.

The first thing Netscape will have you set up is the outgoing mail server. The servername will be mail.yourdomainname.com. Below the servername there is a checkbox that allows the user to specify whether it should use a username/password when sending mail. A password is required when sending email through Weberz servers.

The username is the full email address (including the @domainname.com) for the email account, and the password is the password that was assigned when setting the email account up in the Weberz Control Panel. Once the information has been specified for the outgoing mail server, Netscape Mail needs to be set up to check the email account. To start the configuration process, click Add Account.

When Add Account is clicked, the Add Account Wizard is started. This step by step wizard walks the user through the process of configuring Netscape Mail to work with the Weberz mail system. The first option to configure is the account type. Select Email Account and click Next. Netscape Mail now wants to personalize the client for the user. Enter a name (will be displayed in the from section on out going mail) and the email address (this address should have already been set up in the Weberz Control Panel). Once this information has been entered click next.

Now the incoming and outgoing mail server settings need to be configured. Yes, the outgoing mail server must be set up again. Use the same settings that were specified when the outgoing mail server was set up at the beginning of this document. The incoming mail server will also be mail.yourdomainname.com. Weberz supports both POP and IMAP, so either one can be specified. (please note that IMAP does not store mail locally, rather it keeps the messages on the server) Once the information has been entered, click next.

The username for the mailbox now needs to be configured. The username is the full email address (including the @domain.com portion) and the password is the password that was configured when the email account was set up in the Weberz CP. Click next and leave the settings default for the Account Name. Click next and click finish. Netscape is now configured to send and receive email through Weberz.
